Rita Ferrando is a Canadian-Argentinian writer and filmmaker whose work spans experimental and narrative forms.
Her recent films Pleasure Garden (2022) and Ikebana (2021) have been presented internationally at film festivals and institutions, including the International Film Festival Rotterdam, Toronto International Film Festival, Anthology Film Archives, Sheffield Documentary Film Festival, Beijing International Film Festival, True/False, Festival du Nouveau Cinéma, 25 FPS, Intersección Contemporary Audiovisual Art Festival, and Winnipeg Underground Film Festival.
Recent exhibitions and screenings include Flower and Desk in Spring at Centre A in Vancouver, seen only, heard only through someone else’s description at McEvoy Foundation for the Arts in San Francisco, Kabayitos Microcinema at The Clemente Center in New York, and Center Kanuma in Tochigi, Japan.
She holds a BFA from Toronto Metropolitan University and is currently a Master of Visual Studies candidate at the University of Toronto, Daniels Faculty (2026).
